Ambrose wrote his will on 18 Jul 1838. It was probated 11 May 1846 and it states that he died in Laindon on 22 Mar 1846. In his will he mentions:- my godson and Nephew William Ramsey

- Sarah Curtis of Sudbury in Suffolk
- Hanah Steele of West Thurrick in Essex

He is named as a brother-in-law of John Reeve of Laindon, the husband of Ambrose's sister Elizabeth mentioned in his will.

There is a baptism from Lavenham, Suffolk for an Ambrose Reeve, son of Ambrose and Mary, from 1769 who may be this Ambrose. Lavenham also has a baptism for Elizabeth, daughter of Ambrose and Mary, from 1767, among other of their children, who could be his sister Elizabeth. Ambrose Reeve was married to Mary Gynn on 8 Oct 1765 in Lavenham. Marriage Allegations from the Archdeaconry of Sudbury contain a record for Ambrose Reeve, of Bowers, co., Essex, singleman, to Mary Gynn, of Lavenham, singlewoman. Dated 8 Oct 1765.Sources
