Benjamin was listed as an ensign under Southold Company #1 in the Suffolk Militia in 1715.

Benjamin appears on a list of freeholders in Suffolk County in 1737.

Benjamin's will was dated 1 Jun 1743 and was proved 3 Jun 1752. In it he mentions his wife Deliverance, his brother-in-law Joshua "Walls," sons Joseph, Joshua, and Ezra, and daughters Abigail More and Deliverance and Mehetabel.

Two children who died apparently unmarried without issue before the will was written were Benjamin and Mary who were also buried in the Old Southold Pres graveyard. Benjamin's reads:
