David's birth date is given in the Howell Monroe Reeve Family Bible. It fits with the age given on his headstone in the Aquebogue cemetery.

In an 1833 deed, Jonathan Reeve of Riverhead and David & Mahitable Reeve of Southampton sold some land in Southampton "which was given to us by our Grandfather Reeve deceased." This land was given them by the will of Jonathan Reeve of Riverhead in his 1823 will.

The widow Mahitable appears living in Southampton in 1850 in the household of John C. Luk. She was age 45 and there was an Augusta Reeve (9) with her, apparently David and Mahitable's daughter.
