The will of his father Jonathan mentions "children Daniel...and grandchildren David Reeve, Jonathan Reeve, Daniel H Reeve."
In 1850, Daniel and Abigail were living in Riverhead, Suffolk County, New York.
Daniel is buried in the Aqueboque Cemetery. His headstone reads: "Daniel Reeve/Died Feb 20 1859/AE 76 ys. 6mo./& 10 ds."
His widow tried to claim a pension for his service in the War of 1812. It was denied. But as part of the application there is a certified statement that an old family Bible was examined and the following entries were copied:
- Marriage Abigail Raynor born March 20 1789 Married to Daniel Reeve Feby 2 1808
- Death Daniel Reeve died Feby 20th 1859 - aged 76 yrs 6 months 10 days
Note that this date of marriage is one day earlier than when the Mattituck Pres records state he was married, on the 3rd.
