In 1841, Joseph is listed age 50 in Belchamp Otten with his wife Elizabeth (60) and son Charles (15).

In 1851, the widow Elizabeth, in her 70s (73?) and infirm is listed living alone in Belchamp Otten. She is right next door to "Reeves Farm" and two doors down from the households of Robert Reeve and Samuel Reeve, sons of Thomas. Since Joseph and Elizabeth's son Charles is said in a later census to be a cousin of Robert, it's likely that Joseph and Thomas were brothers.
