In 1851, Robert was age 30, born Belchamp Otten, living in Belchamo Otten with siblings Charlotte (26), Henry (23), Harriet (21), Sarah (19), and a nephew William Reeve (9).

In 1861, his father Thomas (76) was living with him as head of household. Robert had with him his wife Caroline (28) and children Edward (9), Charles (4), Emma (2), and Henry (5 days).

In 1871, Robert is age 52, born Belchamp Otten, living in Belchamp Otten, with wife Caroline (37), children Edward (19), Charles (15), Mary Ann (12), Henry (10), and cousin Charles Reeve (47).

In 1881, Robert (56) and Caroline (45) are living with the family of their daughter Mary Ann Barrett (22), her husband James (22) and their son Frederick C. Barrett (2).

In 1891, Robert (76) and Caroline (60) are lodgers in the household of Hiram (41) and Emma Simpson (38). Hiram and Emma had a son Horace, age 8 at the time.

Research Notes

It appears Emma was the same as Mary Ann who appears later as their daughter. Emma Simpson whom they were with in 1891 is listed as born in Luton, Bedfordshire, and therefore isn't the daughter Emma.
