62nd Foot, Edward Hoare Reeves, Gent., to be Ensing, by purchase, in succession to Lieutenant N. G. Elliot, who has retired. Dated 18th January, 1859.

In October 1860 serving with the 62nd (The Wiltshire) Regiment of Foot, who were in Nova Scotia. See 18601001_Army_List_Reeves_Edward_H

In April 1865, he is listed as a Lieutenant serving with the 1st (The King's) Regiment of Dragoon Guards who are based in Secunderabad. See 18650401_Army_List_Reeves_Edward_H

REEVES-LEYCESTER - Feb. 20. at St Luke's Church, Cork, by the Rev. F H. Thomas, Rector of Kllfethmore?, Co. Tipperary, cousin of the bridegroom, Edward Hoare Reeves, Esq., of Castle Kevin, Co. Cork, to Katie elder daughter of Wm. W. Leycester, Esq. of Ennismore, Co., Cork.

Reynolds's Newspaper, article dated 23 Sep 1888 indicates that an inquest was made after Edward Hoare Reeves was found dead in his bead, likely by suicide. A bottle of prussic acid was found next to his bed.
