REEVES - On the 11th inst., at Reading, Helen Rose Marguerite, daughter of Henry Wilson Reeves, Esq., of the Bombay Civil Service, aged two years and seven months.

MR. H. W. REEVES. - The death of Mr. Henry Wilson Reeves, late of the Bombay Civil Service, occurred at Brighton on the 7th of March. This gentleman entered the service of the late East India Company, on their Bombay Establishment, in the year 1824; and after serving in various capacities in the Revenue Department, he rose eventually to the high post of Revenue Commissioner of that presidency. In August, 1857, he took his seat as a member of the Council at Bombay, which office he held, according to precedent, for the term of five years - resigning the Bombay Civil Service in 1862, when he became an annuitant of the Civil Fund. During his career at Bombay Mr. Reeves took a prominent part in the various religious and social movements in that city, and was for several years President of the Western India Organization, in connection with the Evangelical Alliance, and also of the Auxiliary Branch of the Bible Society at Bombay, besides being an active member of the corresponding committee of the Church Missionary Society.

The Will of Henry Wilson Reeves late of Upper-Southwick-street in the County of Middlesex and of Britwell Priors Wallingford in the County of Berks Esquire deceased who died 7 March 1864 at Brighton in the County of Sussex was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of the Reverend Frederick John Hawkes Reeves of East Sheen in the County of Surrey Clerk the Brother one of the Executors.
