Less than twelve month later, Israel's brother Charles REEVES married Elizabeth OTWAY in the same church of St Mary-Le-Bone. One of the witnesses to that marriage was an Israel REEVES. Whilst this might have been their father Israel on balance it is more probable it was our current subject.

Research Notes
(1) The inclusion of Israel and Susannah’s daughter as Jane Veal (sic) Reeves in the new will written by her grandfather also Israel some six months after the death of his son Israel has been the key to linking the London life of our subject Israel to his Hampshire origins.(2) The baptism register does not show the name of Israel's mother. However his father Israel REEVES is the only individual with this name known to be in this area at this time.
(3) Edward Berkeley Portman (31 January 1771 – 19 January 1823, Rome) was an 18th-century housing developer and politician. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Portman
