Narrative

Charles Reeves was baptised at Fawley, Hampshire on 29 August 1784.

It is possible he spent some time living and perhaps working with his older brother Israel in London. There is a marriage between Charles Reeves and Elizabeth OTWAY in September 1812 at the Parish Church of St Marylebone in London. (See Research Note 1 below).

It is not known when Charles moved across Southampton Water returned to Southampton, but his first known son William was baptised on 29 September 1816 in the Parish Church of St Mary, Southampton at which time they lived on East Street.
Charles and Elizabeth had four known children

2. Elizabeth Reeves
3. Israel James Reeves
4. Samuel Reeves

Just prior to his death, Charles was living on King Street in the St Mary's area of Southampton. He was buried at the Parish Church of St Mary, Southampton on 12 March 1826.

Research Notes

(1) There is much circumstantial evidence to link this Charles to the marriage in Marylebone in 1812. This is the same church where Charles's niece Jane was baptised in November 1811. His brother Israel kept an Ale House in the same neighbourhood. tbc
