Narrative

James Reeves does not appear to have married and left no children and census records show no wife or children in his household. His 1841 will bequeaths his estate to his brother Joseph and brother-in-law John Samonie and wife (Delilah but name not stated). A nephew Milton Samonie and his three sons are also left a legacy of land and Milton was appointmented one of the executors of the will.

His will describes him as "of Henry County, Kentucky" but the will was probated in Franklin County. In the will he also mentions that his nephew Milton Samonie had "undertaken to board and care of him during his life".
