Research Notes

(1) Professional genetic research done on John's family indicate he was the son of John Reeves and the grandson of Allen Reeves
Y-DNA testing confirmed John Reeves is the descendant of Green Reeves of Jasper County, Georgia. John matches perfectly with the son of Green, Benjamin Franklin Reeves of Meriwether County, Georgia.

(2) Malinda Reeves was married in 1833 to Anthony Chapman in Jasper County, Georgia.

(3) It is believed both John and Caroline perished during the Civil War, though no records exist of their deaths. This is likely due to a courthouse being burned during the fighting. It is, however, known that John and Caroline migrated to Catahoula Parish, Louisiana with the Chapmans and Husbands, as their son James was born in 1859 in the state of Louisiana.
