Information from the Chanute Tribune of Chanute, Kansas pertaining to the family cemetery on John C. W. Reeves land indicate that he arrived in that area in 1866.

Civil War Draft Registration recorded in Greencastle, Indiana on the 16th of August, 1863.

Family documents indicate that John C. W Reeves was a veternarian, however he is listed as a farmer in census records.
