Narrative

There is a Quaker marriage record for "Joseph Reeves of the Township of Greenwich in the County of Gloucester and state of New Jersey son of Biddle Reeves...and Ann his wife (Deceased) and Sarah Bassett of the Township of Mannington in the County of Salem...Daughter of Charles Ellet of the Township, County, and state aforesaid and Hannah is wife (the former deceased)."

Abstracts from the Samuel Mickle Diary contains the following entry:
7 Sep 1823 - Funeral of Joseph Reeves, son of Biddle dec'd and Brother of present Biddle.

The burial of Joseph is also recorded on the same date in the Pilesgrove Preparative Meeting Graveyard Records. The record states he was married.

In Will Record 3564Q, there is an inventory of "Joseph Reeves Jr late of the township of Mannington in the County of Salem." This is dated 25 Sep 1823. It also states that Sarah B Reeves was the administratrix. There is another inventory dated 11 Jun 1825 in Will Record 3741Q. This one also styles him as Joseph Reeve late of Mannington in Salem County. The former executrix, Sarah B. Reeve, had died since and Biddle Reeves is named as the surviving Administrator.

There is a will for Sarah B. Reeves dated 1824 which mentions brothers William Ellet and Charles Ellet.

In 1825, Biddle Reeves petitioned the court of Salem County to divide the land of Joseph Reeves between all his siblings who are named in the petition.
