Jos. Reeves and James Reeves witnessed a power of attorney made by John Bogle, Jr. of Glasgow, Kingdom of Scotland, merchant, to Mr. William Ayres of Essex County, South Farnham Parish at Rappahannock River, May 13, 1701 (proved in Essex County by the witnesses October 10, 1701). Again on July 20, 1702, Jos. Reeves and James Reeves witnessed a power of attorney by Jno. Thomas of Bristol, England, merchant, to Mr. Wm. Ayers of South Farnham Parish, Essex County, to settle accounts (recorded June 10, 1703).

In November of 1707, the Essex County court records the extension of the term of Mary Butler, an indentured servant to Joseph Reeves, as her punishment for having a "bastard" child while serving her indenture. [Essex County VA OB 3 p.383]

Joseph Reeves was listed in an accounting of the estate of John Parker. He appears to have paid a debt to the estate, Essex County, not dated but appears in 1715.
