Narrative

Mary Anne was the third daughter of William Reeves and his wife Bridget. Baptised on 5 March 1817 in Ilfracombe.
On 17 Feb 1845 she married John Kemp in Ilfracombe. He is described as a gentleman of Long Ashton. Her father William is also a gentleman and her sister Eliza is one of the witnesses.

In Robson's Directory of Ilfracombe in 1839 she is mentioned as a schoolmistress.
In 1841 she, her mother B (Bridget) and sisters Lucy and Eliza are shown on the census as living on High Street, Ilfracombe.

In 1851 she is aged 32 and living with John, their children, Fanny, Lucy and Wilfred and her sister Eliza Reeves at Ashton Road, Long Ashton.
In 1861 she is aged 43 and living with John, Wilfred, Cuthbert and Madeleine at School, Long Ashton.
In 1871 she is aged 52 and living with John and all 5 children in Long Ashton.

She died on 18 Aug 1879 in Long Ashton. Probate was granted on 12 Sept 1879 and was proved by Wilfrid John Kemp the sole executor.

Her children have quite unusual names. Page is possibly inherited from her mother Bridget.
