Narrative

Eliza was born in Tiverton in Devon in 1819. She is baptised on 3 May with the name of Eliza Reeve and her parents are William and Bridget Reeve on the Bishop's Transcripts.
In the 1841 census she is in Ilfracombe with older sisters Lucy and Mary Anne and their mother B (Bridget) Reeves. They are at an unknown location on the High Street.
In 1851 she is living at Ashton Road with her sister Mary Anne and family. She is working at the school in Long Ashton where Mary Anne's husband, John Kemp, is the headmaster and Eliza is an assistant teacher.
In 1861 Eliza is 41 and still living in Long Ashton with Mary Anne and family.
in 1871 Eliza is living at The Grange in Long Ashton where she is the Schoolmistress.
In 1881 she is a boarder at Cambridge House in Clevedon, Somerset.
In 1891 she is back in Long Ashton at a different address with a servant, Harris's Buildings, and is described as 71, living on own means (dividends)
In 1901 she is still living in Long Ashton aged 81 and described as a retired school mistress. Her address is West Leaze which was her sister Bessy's home, it is possible she inherited it.

Eliza died in on 9 Feb 1904 in Long Ashton. Probate was granted on 14 June 1904 and she left her money £500 7s 1d) to Fanny Hertz Symes wife of Sir Robert Symes. (Fanny is her sister Mary Anne Reeves's daughter).

She never married or had children.
