The Quaker records state that Samuel was son of Samuel and Hannah Reeves and that Elizabeth was the daughter of John and Martha Wright.

In April 1803 Upper Evesham Monthly Meeting minutes include the following:
The friends appointed to visit Samuel Reeves reported they had a very satisfactory opportunity with him, and believe the motives of his request were good and sincere; which being solidly considered them?ling was united in receiving him into membership, with his five minor children, to wit, Thomas, Samuel, Mahlon, Elizabeth and Martha; and Joseph Pierce is appointed to inform him thereof and request his attendance at next monthly meeting.

The minutes from 9 Jan 1808 indicate he was engaged to marry Ann Haines. It mentions that she had children which indicates she was likely a widow.

The wife Elizabeth died 5 Jan 1806. Samuel, Elizabeth and their daughter Elizabeth are buried at Upper Evesham according to the Quaker records. The Quaker records list all the children but Richard. He is mentioned in the Misc Probate documents.

The Miscellaneous Old Records File under Burlington County Probate documents for Samuel Reeves includes a division of his land made by the Orphans court to "Richard Reeves, Mary the wife of John Hammitt late Mary Reeves, Thomas Reeves, Samuel Reeves, Mahlon Reeves, Elizabeth Reeves, Martha Reeves and Mira Ann Reeves only children and heirs at law of the said Samuel Reeves deceased." Elizabeth, Martha and Mira were minors under 21.

Richard Reeve and Isaac Wilson were administrators of his estate. The inventory is dated 9 May 1814.
