The Study of the Reeve family of Southold, Long Island, N.Y. indicates Silas was a son of Hezekiah Reeve, being named in his will and his brother Hezekiah's will. More research is needed to verify his is the same one in New Jersey.
His son Silas sold some land in Roxbury, Morris County, New Jersey in 1779 to Nathan Cooper Jr. The deed states that he was "son of Silas Reeves deceased" and of Roxbury.
