Stephen Reeves, Stephen Reeves Jr., and Stephen Reeves, 3d signed a covenant dated 30 Dec 1784 to pay Mr. Joshua Williams as pastor of the First Parish in Southampton. (Howell, p112). This would be Stephen 3rd referred to here.This is Stephen Reeves, Jr. who appears next to Stephen Reeves on the 1790 census in Southampton. The eldest Stephen Reeves had died in 1789.
Stephen Reeves of Southampton, New York wrote his will on 18 May 1818, but it wasn't proved until 28 Jul 1829. He mentions a wife (no name given), "my nephew Stephen Reeves (son of Brother James)", "my surviving Brothers and sister" (not named), and friend Ebenezer Howell Junr who was made executor along with Stephen's wife.
The old DAR transcription of the North End Graveyard includes the following:
