In 1837, Ruth Reeves a resident of Cumberland County, New Jersey, aged 74 testified of her husband Thomas Reeves's service in the war. He served for six months in 1778 or 1779 in the eastern part of New Jersey and apparently served again after being discharged from that first service. "She further declares that she was married to the said Thomas Reeves on the first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one: that her husband, the aforesaid Thomas Reeves, died on the twenty sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen." One of the testimonies states that her maiden name was Ogden. Note that the probate file is from 1812, so likely she got the year mixed up in her statement.

Thomas, his wife Ruth and their son Thomas were all mentioned in the will of his his father Thomas Reeves (1728 - 1814).

In an 1803 deed, Thomas Jr. and Ruth Reeves quit claim to Ephraim Dayton of all their right and title in land belonging to Levi Dare in Fairfield not devised by his Last Will and Testament.

From New Jersey Will Abstracts:
1812, Oct. 28. Reeves, Thomas, Jr., of Hopewell, Cumberland Co. Int. Inventory, $328.45; made by Abraham Reeves, William Johnson, Sworn to by Ruth Reeves, Adm'x, Oct. 31, 1812.
File 1591 F.

On 18 Jul 1814, the Orphans court appointed Ruth Reeves guardian of Thomas, Anne, and Nancy A. Reeves and approve of Abraham Reeves. This appears to be the widow and children of this Thomas. Ann and Nancy are mentioned in the will of their grandfather Thomas Reeves.

In 1832, Thomas Reeves and his wife Rebecca and Ruth Reeves sold some land to William Brown.
