From the guardianship records of Lancaster County, South Carolina:
Jonathan D. Johnson petitioned 27 Dec 1845 for appointment and was appointed guardian of Amey E. Reeves, Charlotte Ann Bethenia Reeves, and Thomas J. Reeves. Bond was secured by Philip T Hammond, William J Connors. On 11 July 1850, Philip T. Hammond replaced Jonathan D. Johnson as guardian for Amey, Thomas, and Charlotte.

T. J. Reeves was a 2nd Lieutenant in Co. H of the 2nd SC Regiment, the same company that John J and Thomas C Reeves were in. Jeffcoat's book notes that he was wounded, shot in the left hand. Reports from the Battle of Gettysburg note that he was slightly wounded.

T. J. apparently was visiting with the Blackmons in 1870 as he and his daughter Sallie appear on the 1870 census with them in Missouri.

Thomas Jefferson Reeves married first Susannah Blackmon. Blackmon researchers indicate that she was a daughter of Elisha Blackmon (c. 1797, SC - ) and wife Susannah, and sister to Byrum J. Blackmon and Andrew Bynum Blackmon, who married two of the Reeves sisters. She was born 4 March 1835 and died 17 March 1858. The 1860 Lancaster Co., SC, Census, Pleasant Hill, HH 1023/1032, showed Bethena Reeves, 54, $2000/$1800, SC; Charlotte A. B., 15, $1500, SC; Thomas J., 22, Farmer, $0/$2000, SC; Sarah E., 4, SC. Thomas J. and Sarah were shown in the same dwelling as Bethena but as a separate family. James A. Blackmon, age 22, was in the next household and Elisha Blackmon, age 63, in the following one.
