Wiki Stats - End March 2014
The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 April 2014) now stands at 5721 (previously 5660, 5633, 5623), an increase of 52 pages during the past month. Of these 1167 pages (was 1160, 1160, 1159) begin with number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 2279 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 1866 begin with the letter "R".TRP Users
We ended March with 157 user accounts on TRP, with four new members successfully activating their accounts during the month. We welcome Paula, Beverly T., Mary and Emily and look forward to their contributions to TRP. (Yes, 157 is the same as last month; we also deleted four user accounts which were created but never used.)Nothing to Add? - Please think again.
There was a comment on the Reeves List at Rootsweb during the past month "..maybe a lot of people are like me and feel they really don't have anything to contribute."Here at TRP, we feel that's highly unlikely. Each of us has at least three UNIQUE things we can contribute to TRP
- The first is pretty trivial and easy to achieve - its your real name.
- The second is to create your AboutMe page, so we understand a little more about where your R*v*s interest lie in time and place and (optionally) if you're not too shy a little about you as an individual, as well.
- And thirdly, contribute a page for your most recent R*v*s ancestor (or your R*v*s grandparent/great grandparent to avoid living individuals). If a page for the individual already exists, you can still add a "for our eyes only" paragraph explaining your relationship to the individual.
Of course, we'd love you to then go on and add more pages for your family members until you work back to the Earliest Reeves Ancestor you told us about on your "Join Us" form, or until your line intersects with a family group we already have pages for.
Follow-ups From Last Month
There are a couple of updates to the Latest News for March 2014.- The pages of the new micro site, the Virtual Reeves World War 1 Memorial Project were initially restricted to Registered users users only. Those pages are now generally accessible.
- The profile page for The Reeves Project at The Guild of One Name Studies is now accessible at http://one-name.org/profiles/reeves.html.
Happy 4th Birthday TRP
It was on 1 April 2010 that Beverly Watson wrote a post to the Reeves mailing List which was the catalyst for The Reeves Project. In the past four years we've come along way and yet there is still much, much more to do.Happy Birthday TRP.
