Commentary

On the 1861 census Samuel's widow is recorded as Elizabeth. She is living with their son Samuel and her place of birth is given as Happerly, Gloucestershire. It is probably both are corruptions of Apperley, a village in Gloucestershire, about 3 miles southwest of Tewkesbury. It was a chapelry of the Ancient Parish of Deerhurst.

Samuel REEVES is a neighbour of George REEVE.
