Reeves Y-DNA Project Updates - January 2020
Originally notified to the Activity Feed of the Reeves DNA Project at FtDNA by Martin B on 15 January 2020 (accessed 16 June 2020) and reformatted for inclusion here. 1 New DNA Group XX
Today (15 Jan 2020) we’re pleased to announce the formation of another group within the Reeves DNA Project. Group XX is however unlike all of the other existing groups within the project. It’s members have no expectation of a Y-DNA match within the Reeves DNA Project. That is because their Reeves line ends with a married Reeves daughter. For additional background information on this new group, please see https://thereevesproject.org/data/DNA_Group_xx_Home
If your Y-DNA results are currently sitting in the ungrouped pool of the Reeves DNA Project and you know your most recent Reeves ancestor is a married Reeves daughter, please let us know. You can do so by completing the DNA Consent notification found at https://thereevesproject.org/data/DNA_Groups_Donor_Permission. Thank you

Prior to announcing this new Group, we approached several existing DNA Project group members whose previous posts led us to believe they were candidates for membership of this new Group XX. We are grateful to the three individual who responded positively to our enquiry.
To support this new Group, we have also made a minor change to the page Permission from Donor and Permission from Donor's Manager/Proxy to appended two new questions related to DNA Group XX.

As explained on page DNA Groups - Donor Information, since mid 2018, TRP is not able to name the DNA Donor unless they give TRP explicit consent.
Please do make contact and allow us to identify you within TRP. Whether you are a TRP member or not, as explained on that page, all it takes is a simple proforma e-mail. ((
