Granderson Latta married first Martha Ann Reeves who died around 1845 in Granville County. After Martha's death, he then married her sister, Nancy Caroline Reeves. Martha Ann and Nancy Caroline Reeves were daughters of John Reeves and Elizabeth Holloway of Wake County, North Carolina.

Sometime after the 1850 census where they are recorded in Granville County, North Carolina, the family migrated to White County, Arkansas and Granderson Latta died there in 1863.
