His wife is Anna Eliza, daughter of Isaac and Abigail (Tusten) Reeve, of Goshen, whom he married Jan. 1, 1833. She was born May 3, 1810, and with her husband have been for many years members of the Presbyterian Church at Goshen.

On 14 July 1819, "Daniel Reeve a Brother, and Hezekiah Watkins a friend of Isaac Reeve late of the Town of Goshen" gained administration on Isaac's estate.

DIED,
On Tuesday last, of a complaint occasioned by a strain of the back, Mr. Isaac Reeve, of this town, known for many years as the proprietor of the main stage from Newburg to Easton, and also of a respectable public house in this village.

On 2 Dec 1824, John Wallace became guardian of Thomas T. Reeve (aged 16 on 2nd Jan), Ann Eliza Reeve (aged 14 on 3rd May), Sarah Reeve (aged 9 on 4th August), and James J (aged 6 on 13th October), all children of the late Isaac Reeve of Goshen.

The following is from a set of Abstracts of Orange County, New York Surrogate Records from Goshen included in the Yesteryear publication:
  • Adm. 7-24-1832: James Reeve d 6-18-1814 in the Army of the U. S. A. Left no widow, no child, no brother and sisters, except Joanna Case wife of John Case, now dec'd, that he left nephews and nieces to wit the children of Joanna Case, the children of Isaac Reeve and Daniel Reeve of whom petitioner James C. Reeve is one. That the said Joanna Case renounced all right to letters or adm. of the estate. The estate does not exceed $200. James C. Reeve appt. adm. 7-24-1832. Joanna Case of the Town of Hopewell sister of James Reeve, late of Orange Co. dec'd renounced 7-10-1832.

According to Graveyard inscriptions of Orange County, N.Y., Isaac, Abigail, and a granddaughter Georgiana were all buried in Slate Hill Cemetery just outside of Goshen. It states Isaac died 6 Jul 1819, age 38; Abigail died 21 Jul 1842, age 63. And Georgiana, daughter of Thomas & Anges died 22 Sep 1838, age 1y, 3m. There was also an "Edward E. son" Reeve buried in the cemetery, but no further details gleaned to identify him.

Research Notes

This was at first thought to be Isaac, the son of James Reeve and his wife Mary Moore. However, that Isaac has been identified through his will which mentions his son Wickham C. Reeve, which the ''History of Orange County' names as a grandson of James. This Isaac must therefore be the Isaac, brother to Daniel and James. The connection to brother Daniel Reeve implies he is a son of the elder Daniel Reeve of Goshen.

This appears to be the Isaac Reeve living in Wallkill in 1810.
