Children of Jeremy Reeve and Judith Stamer:
  1. Mary Reeve, bap. 8 Jul 1624
  2. Jeremiah Reeve, bap. 8 Jun 1626
  3. Hannah Reeve, bap. 23 May 1633

Children of Jeremy Reeve and Hannah:
  1. William Reeve, bap. 8 Apr 1637, bu. 10 Mar 1637/8

Although the rest of his siblings were baptized at Gosfield, his is registered at Great Leighs with date 4 Oct 1601, which is just south of Gosfield. His mother's family were from this area, so this is reasonable:
  • Jeremie Reve the sonne of John Reve baptized ye iiiith of October (1601)

Jeremy appears to have been involved in the Puritan movement as he signed the Protestation from Childerditch Gosfield in 1641.

The will of his brother-in-law Thomas Fitch mentions "my brothers John Reeve and William Stacy...and my brother Jeremy Reeve."

From Sandon, St. Andrew, Essex Parish Register:
  • Jeremy Reeve and Judith Stamer July 3 (1622)

From Gosfield, St Catherine, Essex Parish Register:
  • Maria filia Jeremia Reeve et Judithia ...baptizata ye die Juli... (1624)
  • Jeremias filius Jeremia Reeve et Judithia ...baptizatus fuit 8 due Junii (1626)
  • Hannah filia Jeremia Reeve et Judithia ...baptizatus fuit ...die May (5 May 1633)

From Dunton, St Mary The Virgin, Essex Parish Register:
  • William Reve ye sonne of Jeremy and Hanna Reve his wife was baptized ye 8th day of Aprill privatly at home in perienlo mortis 1637
  • William Reve ye sonne of Jeremy and Hana Reve, was buyried Marty 10 1637 (1638)

Jeremy appears to have still been in Dunton as late as 1652 as he along with John Fitch of Braintree were grantees to a deed that year from Jeremy Fitch of London. Note that these were probably relatives as his uncle was a Thomas Fitch.

Research Notes

More information on Jeremy is available on Delores Dickson's blog.

The blog notes "Jurors at Chelmsford 113/1/64 10 Apr 1671 says Jeremiah Reeve of Childerditch dead 1671."
