In 1841, the family was living in Bocking, Essex. Their granddaughter Isabella Reeve (daughter of William Napier Reeve), age 3, was also living with them, listed as born outside of Essex. A Mary Newland, age 20, was also living with them.

His will is dated 6 Dec 1850 and was proved 16 Jun 1851. He gave everything to his wife Sarah. Elizabeth Houston Reeve was one of the witnesses. Admon was granted to "William Napier Reeve one of the natural and lawful children of the said deceased."

Joseph's death is registered in 1q 1851 in Braintree, Essex.

Widow Sarah, with her children Elizabeth and Sophia, and a servant named Martha Jealous were living at Bocking End in Bocking parish in 1851.

Research Notes

Son Joseph may be the one who married Isabella Thoms in 1866 and lived in New Zealand.

Daughter Caroline appears to have married a Mr. Lincolne, moved to South Australia, then married Charles Francis Godfrey Ashwin. These individuals need more research.
