Narrative

John appears as "John Reeves Jur" next to his father on the 1698 census in Southampton, presumably in his household.

John is mentioned in his father's will in 1753 as inheriting and owning some property jointly with his brother Nathan.

This would appear to be the older John Reeves listed in Southampton in the 1776 census. John seems to appear frequently in the Southampton Town Records but is hard to distinguish between him and his son.

Research Notes

Rachel Wells Reeves, wife of John Reeves, buried at North End Graveyard (d. 24 Aug 1775, age 77) is either the wife of this John or a second wife of his father John.

Given that the younger John Reeves was listed as "Jur" on the 1776 census, this is likely his father. In addition, the younger John appears frequently near David Reeves and therefore may be another son.
