Narrative

Children of John Reeves and Mary Brown:
  1. Henry Reeves, b. c1826
  2. Sarah Reeves, b. c1831
  3. Nancy Reeves, b. 19 Jul 1833
At some time after his marriage to Mary Brown, John Reeves and his family moved to Georgia as the youngest children named above were all listed as having been born in Georgia. Undoubtedly there were other children born to John and Mary during the years 1810 to 1830, but their identities are currently unknown as is the county of John's residence in Georgia although it was probably Jasper. There are court records in Jasper County regarding several other descendants of Allen Reeves as well as John himself [Jasper GA LA A:137].

In a York County deed dated August 4, 1812, John Reeves and his wife Mary, formerly Mary Brown, along with her siblings conveyed land inherited from her brother Alexander Brown to William Gillam.

The probate records of Elizabeth Reeves name the above listed step children as legatees. Case Nbr. 38, File 1628 of York County Probate Records.
