Narrative
Children of Matthew Reeve and Mary:- Elizabeth Reeve, bu. 29 Jan 1695
Matthew is mentioned in the will of his father from 1659 as not yet 21. In a 1693 heirs deed, he is said to be of Shellow Bowells. He was still living in 1697 when he was mentioned in his brother Richard's will.
From Estate and Family records at the Essex Archives, a deed dated 1693:
- Richard Reeve, of Willingale Spain, yeoman, s. & h. of Thomas Reeve, late of Roxwell, and Susan his wife, afterwards wife of Thomas Foster, of Roxwell and Matthew Reeve, of Shellow Bowells, brother of Richard to Henry Maggett, of Writtle, yeoman, 2 crofts called "Seawalls", near "Stone hill" in Roxwell
Since this Matthew was of Shellow Bowells in 1693, he appears to be the best match for the following entries from the register there:
- Eliz ye daughtr of Matthew Reeve & Mary his wife Jan 29 (1694/5) (burial)
- Mary ye wife of Math: Reeve May ye 29 1715 (burial)
- Mathew Reeve May ye 20th (1723) (burial)
