  7. George Reeves, b. c1819, d. 20 Dec 1837

Edward's birth is recorded in multiple family Bibles. Yet a third one, the Pierson-Reeves Family Bible records his birth as the 9th rather than 19th. This third one also includes their children.

Their marriages is recorded in Southampton Presbyterian Church Records:
  • 1799 January 30th - Edward Reeves and Lucretia Wick.

The following baptisms with births are recorded in Southampton Presbyterian Church Records:
  • 1800 Jan. 5 - Lemuel Wick, son of Edward Reeves and Lucretia Wick, his wife, born Oct. 21, 1799.
  • 1802 Oct 10 - Elizabeth, daughter of Edward Reeves and Lucretia Wick, his wife, born Apr. 19, 1802.
  • 1805 June 30 - Harry son of Edward Reeves and Lucretia Wick, his wife, born Mar. 31, 1805.
  • 1807 Nov. 8 - Albert, son of Edward Reeves and Lucretia Wick, his wife, born Sept. 3, 1807.
  • 1810 Oct. 21 - Augustus, son of Edward Reeves and Lucutia Wick, his wife, born Aug. 10, 1810.

Lucretia and George are buried in the same cemetery. She died 26 Nov 1851.

The will of Zebulon Wick of Southampton, written 10 Jan 1809, identifies Lucretia Reeves as a daughter and mentions son-in-law Edward Reeves as executor (WB C, pp. 56-59).

Edward Reeves of Southampton's will was dated 8 Jan 1856 and was proved 9 Mar 1857. In it he mentions son Lemuel W. and Lemuel's children Henry A., Edward and Walter, grandson Edward C. Reeve, son of Henry, daughter Elizabeth wife of Philetus Peirson, and Harriet, wife of James G. Howell. Some land went to Harriet and son Augustus. Balance to sons Henry and Albert, executors. Jonathan Fithian was also an executor.

Research Notes

Note that the Pierson-Reeves Family Bible states that Henry Reeves was born 3 Sep 1807 and died 5 July 1864. This is flatly incorrect as Edward's will which names his grandson Edward C. Reeve, son of Henry and this is easily identifiable as Henry (31 Mar 1805 - 20 Mar 1879). This Bible also leaves out Albert and Harriet.
