Narrative

Children of John Reeve and Eleanor Brock:
  1. Jeremiah Reeve

From Childerditch, All Saints and St Faith, Essex Parish Register:
  • Rebecca Reeve the daughter of Mr John Reeve & Eliz his wife was baptized August 13 1683 at the aforesaid parish of Childerditch
  • Elenor wife of Mr John Reeve was buried the first day of March (1704/5)
  • John Reeve was buried January the seventeenth one thousand seven hundred thirty two three

Note that it's possible the entry in the record for Rebecca could mistakenly be Eliz instead of Elen/Eleanor. There doesn't seem to be any other John in the record at Childerditch.

The will of his aunt Mary Hampton mentions "my Cozn Jno Reeve of Childerditch Gent." The will is dated 1681.

The will of his brother-in-law William Burton, husband of his sister Rebecca mentions "John Reeve & his wife that now is." The will is dated 1687 and could suggest Eleanor was his second wife.

Research Notes

It's possible the John buried in 1733 was his grandson. This needs further verification.
