Zadock appears in militia lists in Suffolk County in 1759 and 1760, age 18 and 19 respectively.Zadock Reeve | Phebe Tappen | Wading River/Wading River | Mar 8, 1768
He appears in the 1776 census right after Solomon Reeve whom it is believed was likely his father. The census indicates he likely had a wife, son and daughter living with him. He was listed in Southold in 1790 with two males under 16 and a total of three females.
This appears to be the same Zadock listed in Riverhead in Suffolk County from 1800-1820. In 1820, he was listed next door to Solomon T. Reeve, who may be a son.
Research Notes
Given the presence of the name Zadock in the family and other circumstantial evidence, it may be that this is the father of Elias Reeve, David Reeve, and Solomon T. Reeve.Sources
