Last evening, by the Rev. Mr. Feltus, Mr. Samuel Reeves, to Miss Margaret Carter, both of this city.
In an 1834 unacknowledged deed recorded in Suffolk County, Samuel and his wife Margaret of New York City along with Jesse granted some land to Edward Reeves of Southampton. The deed states that this land had been given to Samuel and Philip Reeves by the will of their grandfather John Reeves. In a previous deed dated 29 Nov 1827, Philip Reeves of New York City sold some land in Southampton which was the "whole undivided part obtained by the last Will and Testament of John Reeves deceased formerly Farmer of Southampton." In this deed he referring to his brother Samuel, sister Hannah, and mother Desire Reeves. According to transcriptions of the North End Graveyard in Southampton, Desire was the relict of John Reeves Jr.
In 1850, the family was living in the household of Lydia Welton (72), born in Connecticut. No relationship known.
In 1860, the widow Margaret and her family were in the household of her son John. There was a Malvena Reeves (19) and an Eliza Reeves (50) with them as well.
