The marriage record lists wife as Temperance Reeve. Their children's births were recorded in the First Pres church records as well.
The probate of his father Elijah's will states that Elisha was of Wall Kill, Orange County, New York in 1793. We find him on the census from 1790-1830 in Wallkill. The 1830 census indicates he was born in the 1760s. Given his brother was born in 1751 and his father's will states he is the youngest son, this makes sense.
Elisha is on the tax list from Wall Kill, Orange County from 1799-1802.
We find another Elisha Reeve, listed a "Junr" on the census in Deerpark, Orange County in 1800. The First Pres Church records list Elisha Reeve Junr marrying Phebe Saybolt in 1788. This would appear to be a different Elisha.
The pension roll of 1835 lists Elisha Reeve of the New York Militia, age 84. This would put his birth around 1751. The pension lists shows him receiving payments Mar 1835 through Mar 1837. There is an Elisha Reeve who died 3 Jun 1838 in the Clarks Burial Ground not too far from Mamakating. It would seem based on the Census records that this Elisha was the one who survived until 1838, not the one who married Phebe Saybolt. This needs more research. In the Revolutionary War pension record, Elisha Reeve stated he was born in 1750 in Southold.
We find that deed records reflect the possibility of two different Elisha Reeves's. In 1805, Elisha Reeve of Deerpark sold some land in Orange County. His wife Phebe signed with him. Elisha and Phebe sell land in in 1809. This Elisha and Eaton Smith sold land back and forth in 1810 and 1811. In 1816, Elisha Reeve of Wallkill sold some land in Wallkill to his sons Elisha Reeve Jr. and John C. Reeve of the same place. This clearly establishes Elisha was still of Wallkill in 1816. In 1819, Elisha & Elizabeth and John C & Mary of Wallkill sold some land to the Seybolts. In 1826, Elisha of Wallkhill sold land to Elisha Jr. of Calhoun, in Orange County. In 1828, Henry B. Weiner, the administrator of John C. Reeve sold some land to Elisha Reeve Jr. of Calhoun. These deeds reinforce the relationships and connection to Wallkill rather than Deerpark.
