This indenture made the Twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five between James H Witherspon Esqr Comr of the honorable court of Equity for Lancaster District at Lancaster Court House in the said State of the one part and John Taylor of said District of the other part - Whereas Elisha Reeves and Bethenia Reeves widow of James Reeves decd on or about the fourteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five did exhibit this Bill of Complaint in the Court of Equity at Lancaster Court House, in the said State against Phillip Richardson and Winney his wife, Amos Blackmon & Jane his wife, James Reeves, John Reeves, Bynum J. Blackmon & wife Elizabeth, Caroline Reeves, Mary Reeves, Dorcas Reeves, Thos Reeves, Amey Reeves, and Bethenia Reeves, devisees of James Reeves late of said Dist deceased and the said cause being at issue before the honorable court came on to be heard Novr 28th 1844 on the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five where the said court after full hearing thereof, and mature deliberating in the premises, did order, Adjudge & decree that the said piece parcel plantation or tract of land below described belonging to Est James Reeves decd shall be sold at Public Auction by the comr of the said court on the times & for the purposes mentioned in (?) (?) order as by reference thereto in the registry of the said court will appear; and the said James H Witherspoon as Comr of the said Court after having duly advertized the said piece, parcel, plantation or tract of land for sale, by public auction on the sixth day of January in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five did then openly and according to the custom of auction, sell & disperse of the said peace, parcel or tract of land below described unto the said John Taylor for the sum of Two hundred Dollars one cent he being at that price the highest bidder for the same - Now therefore this indenture witnesseth, that the said James H. Witherspoon as Cor of the said Court, under and by virtue of the same decree, and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars one cent secured to be paid him by the said John Taylor the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted Bargained sold and released and by these presents doth grant, Bargain, sell and release unto the said John Taylor & his heirs and assigns all that piece, parcel, plantation or tract of and, situate in the District of Lancaster, on both sides of the Rocky River Road & bounded in part by the Lancaster Road containing two hundred and one acres more or less adjoining land of Elisha Garris, Susanah Baskin, Dudley Hail, John Taylor and also bounded by the twenty acre tract sold James C McMullin by James Reeves having such form, marks, & boundaries as a plat thereof marked & annexed to the return of the Comr in above case, represented, a copy of which is hereunto annexed, reference being had to the said & annexed plat to more fully described & locate said lands. The twenty acres laid off to L McMullin on annexed plat is not fully conveyed nor sold - Together with all and singular the hereditaments, Rights, members and appurtenances whatsoever, to the said piece, parcel, plantation or tract of land belonging and anywise appertaining , and the Remains & Remainder, Rents issues and profits thereof, and also all the Estate, Rights, titles, Interest, sum, Possessions, Property, benefits, claim and demands whatsoever both at law and Equity of the heirs and Representatives of the said James Reeves deceased and of all the parties to the said (?) of all other persons rightfully claiming, or to claim the same or any part thereof, by from, or under thence, or whereof thence; To have and to hold, the said piece, parcel plantation or tract of land with its hereditaments, privileges, and appurtenances unto the said John Taylor his heirs and assigns to him & his only posses use & benefit and (?) forever - In witness whereof, the said James H. Witherspoon as Comr of the said Court under and by virtue of the said Decree hath hereunto set his hand and the seal of the court; on the day and year full above written

Witherspoon Comr Equity for Lancaster District sign, seal and deliver the within deed to John Taylor for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and that James Baskin with himself in the presence of each other witnessed the same -
